NYU permitted for $38.8M rehab of part of Tisch Hospital in Kips Bay
NYU Langone Medical Center, on June 1, was given a permit for a $38.8 million project to rehabilitate a 40,159-square-foot medical building in the Tisch Hospital complex at 534 First Avenue in Kips Bay, Manhattan.
The plans, pre-filed on December 17, 2020, call for work on floors one and two of the 30-foot tall, two-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: alteration type 1 to renovate floors and amend assembly spaces as indicated on plans filed herewith. Obtain a new certificate of occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $38,820,000.
According to the plans, the project will emend the building’s auditorium space on floors one and two, while also taking care of general rehab work on the lobby, lecture rooms and multipurpose rooms.
