NYU finishes $3.8M multi-floor rehab of Langone hospital building in Kips Bay

New York University Medical Center, on November 30, formally completed a $3.8 million rehabilitation of multiple floors of a hospital building at 530 First Avenue in Kips Bay. The building, known as the HCC building, is part of the NYU Langone hospital.

The plans, pre-filed on September 30, 2016, call for a rehab of sub-cellar, cellar, and floors one and three of the 185-foot tall, 15-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: interior renovation, partition, ceiling and door modifications on the HCC building cellar, sub-cellar, first and third floor as per plans. No change in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $3,750,000.

Francis Cauffman was the architect.

Last month the university completed a $10 million rehab of one floor of the Tisch Hospital, at 562 First Avenue in Kips Bay.

In 2018, the university completed a decade-long master plan for to rehab the Langone hospital.
