The New York City School Construction Authority, on November 23, was given a permit for a $24 million rehabilitation of several floors of school space at 42 Trinity Place in the Financial District. The mixed-use building, which is formally known as 77 Greenwich Street, was developed by Trinity Place Holdings.
The plans, pre-filed on November 8, 2018, call for a rehab of the cellar and floors one through nine of the 503-foot tall, 40-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: herewith filing removal and installation for interior non load-bearing partitions as per plans. No change to use, egress, or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $24,035,389.
The 476-seat, pre-K through fifth grade school occupies floors one through eight of the building, according to reports.
The plans for the building itself, which were pre-filed in September of 2016, have yet to receive their initial TCO.
