Home Depot receives TCO for 134K sf retail building in Maspeth

Home Depot, on November 23, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 134,230-square-foot retail building at 59-15 Maurice Avenue in Maspeth.

The plans, pre-filed on January 30, 2019, call for the construction of a 23-foot tall, one-story retail building. The time from pre-file to TCO was one year and 10 months.

The project is described in the filings as: filing herewith new one-story commercial building as per plans.

According to the plans, the store has parking for 156 cars. The building has office space, an employee lounge, garden center, sales area, tool renting center, and six loading berths. The roof of the building has a parking garage for 361 cars.

WD Partners was the architect.

The world’s largest home improvement retailer acquired the 7.3-acre site for $63 million on August 22, 2017. Coca-Cola was the previous owner, and had used the area as a bottling plant.

Reports indicated Coca-Cola was relocating the bottling plant to Elmsford in Westchester County. It had operated the Maspeth bottling plant since 1980.
