NYC receives TCOs for three schools in Brooklyn, Queens

The New York City School Construction Authority, on August 7, was issued temporary certificates of occupancy following the construction of three schools in Brooklyn and Queens.

The first plans, pre-filed on September 30, 2016, call for the construction of a 74-foot tall, five-story, 98,240-square-foot school building at 270 59th Street in Sunset Park. The time from pre-file too TCO was three years and 11 months.

The project is described in the filings as: P.S. 746-K : construction of a new five-story educational structure with cellar and play yard to be known as P.S. 746-K with block: 861 and merging of lots: 43, 37, 29 and 23. The property is not in a flood zone area. Also filed herewith are the zoning and egress analysis.

The cellar of the building, according to the plans, has offices, locker rooms, a custodian workshop, kitchen, servery, and cafeteria. The ground floor has offices, classrooms, an auditorium/gymnasium, classrooms, and a lobby. Floors two through five each have classrooms and offices, the third floor also has a gym and the fifth floor also has a library. The building also has a play yard outside of the building.

The second plans, pre-filed on September 27, 2016, call for the construction of a 94-foot tall, five-story, 97,755-square-foot school building at 34-55 112th Street in Corona. The time from pre-file too TCO was three years and 11 months.

The project is described in the filings as: new five-story building – P.S. 143 Q.

The ground floor of the building has a cafeteria, kitchen, servery, and storage space, per the plans filed. floors two through five will be used for classroom and office space, the third floor also has a library.

The third plans, pre-filed on September 18, 2017, call for the construction of a 49-foot tall, 3-story, 27,606-square-foot building at 445 Beach 135th Street in Belle Harbor. The time from pre-file too TCO was two years and 11 months.

The project is described in the filings as: filing herewith for new three-story school. The new facility is to include 11 classrooms and support spaces.

The ground floor of the building has a library, cafeteria, storage space, office space, and a staff lounge. The second floor will be used for pre-K classrooms, offices, and a conference room. The third floor, used for kindergarten level, has classroom and office space, as well as an exercise room.
