City receives TCO for new 52K sf school building in College Point

The New York City School Construction Authority, on August 14, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 52,485-square-foot school building at 128-05 9th Avenue in College Point, Queens.

This is at least the fifth TCO that has been issued to the SCA for new school buildings this month. On August 10, the SCA received a TCO following construction of a 31,673-square-foot school building at 15 A Fairfield Street in Staten Island. Three days earlier, on August 7, the SCA received three TCOs for three schools in Brooklyn and Queens.

The plans, pre-filed on October 16, 2017, call for the construction of a 61-foot tall, three-story building. The time from pre-filed to TCO was two years and nine months.

The project is described in the filings as: proposed new three-story school building.

The basement of the building has storage and classroom space as well as lockers and accessory offices. The ground floor has a cafeteria and servery, storage space, offices, and classrooms. The second floor has a library, along with additional classroom and storage space. The third floor also has classrooms and storage space.

Kenny & Khan Inc Architects is the architect on record.
