$2.5M multi-floor rehab completed at privately managed NYCHA building in Mott Haven
NYC Housing Authority, on July 28, formally completed a $2.5 million rehab of several floors of a residential building at 480 East 143rd Street in Mott Haven. The properties are managed by RDC Development, which is a joint venture of MDG Design & Construction and Wavecrest Management, which acquired the parcels under a Rental Assistance Demonstration program for $79.2 million on November 16, 2018.
The plans, pre-filed on October 11, 2018, call for a rehab of the roof and floors one through four of the 58-foot tall, 6-story, building. The time from pre-file to completion was one year and nine months.
The project is described in the filings as: application filed for minor alterations to apartments including cabinet and door replacements, lobby finishes, plumbing fixture replacement, exhaust replacements, window replacement, roof resurfacing and new landscaping. No change in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,544,900.
The architect on the 2018 filing is Newman Design Group.
The NYCHA recently filed plans for a $6M rehab of the Washington Community Center in East Harlem.
