NYC Housing Authority files plans for a $6M rehab of the Washington Community Center in East Harlem

NYC Housing Authority, on June 12, filed a permit application for a $5.7 million rehab of the building at 1775 Third Avenue in East Harlem.

The plans call for a renovation of the 23-foot tall, 2-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: proposed interior and exterior renovation of existing community center (NYCHA). All as per plan filed herewith. Plumbing and mechanical filed under different application through DOB Now. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $5,698,760.

The community center is used for Union Settlement’s Youth Services division, which according to its website provides services to more than 3,250 children, adolescents and young adults with programs.
