NYC files plans for a $3M rehab of a wastewater resource recovery facility in Queens
NYC Department of Environmental Protection, on July 28, filed a permit application for a $2.5 million rehab of an industrial building, known as the Tallman Island Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility at 12701 Powells Cove Boulevard in Queens.
The plans call for a rehab of the the basement, the building’s lone floor, and the outside space of the 30-foot tall, 1-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: Tallman Island WRRF – – grit building and north/south thickener buildings. General construction scope of work is to install (3) flex membrane flood barrier covers, replace (5) doors in-kind with flood doors, raise (3) windows above dfe, construct metal stairs and platform, install (6) stop log barriers, and replace in-kind (8) sludge pumps and grinders The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,514,690.
