NYC Homeless Services finishes $4.7M rehab, permitted for $2.6M rehab
New York City Department of Homeless Services, on September 3, completed a $4.7 million rehabilitation of the roof of a building at 1402 8th Avenue in Park Slope.
The plans, pre-filed on May 31, 2018, call for a rehab of the roof of the 75-foot tall, two-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: filing for the replacement of roof as shown on drawings filed herewith. No change is use, egress, or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $4,700,000.
The building is known as the CAMBA Park Slope Women’s Shelter. CAMBA serves more than 65,000 individuals and families each year. They have over 160 programs in 95 locations throughout New York.

On the same day, NYC DHS was given a permit for a $2.6 million rehab of several floors of a building at 78 Catherine Street in Chinatown.
The plans, pre-filed on September 10, 2018, call for a rehab of all four floors of the 57-foot tall, four-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: herewith filing for bathroom upgrades on floors 1-4, including removal and installation of interior partitions. Related mechanical and sprinkler work. No change in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,588,000.
The building is known as the Catherine Street Family Respite Shelter.
