NYC finishes $6.3M rehab of Soundview school
The New York City School Construction Authority, on September 4, formally completed a $6.3 million rehabilitation of a school building at 800 Taylor Avenue in Soundview, the Bronx.
The plans, pre-filed on May 14, 2014, call for a rehab of the roof and all four floors of the of the 47-foot tall, four-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: PS 100X- remove and replace existing parapets, lintels. complete roof replacement. Replace broken bricks and masonry and coping stones repair. Replace four bulkhead windows. New gutters with downspouts, install two new one 1/2 hour rated doors with framing and hardware, plumbing and mechanical filed subsequently. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $6,250,000.
The building is used for the Isaac Clason school, which serves over 460 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Elementary.
The NYC SCA did the architecture for the project in house.
No plans have been filed at the building since 2014.
