NYC Health + Hospitals, on August 5, formally completed a $20.7 million rehabilitation of multiple floors of a hospital building at 227 Madison Street in Chinatown. The building is home to the Gouverneur nursing and rehabilitation facility.

The plans, pre-filed on March 12, 2009, call for a rehab of the sub-cellar, cellar, and floors one through 13 of the 150-foot tall, 13-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: modification to existing HVAC system and installation of emergency generator as per plans filed herewith. No change in use, egress or occupancy under this application. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $20,700,000.

In early May they filed a permit application for construction of a 93-unit, 59,191-square-foot residential building at 171 Throop Avenue in Brooklyn. That same month they received permits for a $50.2 million renovation of five floors of a hospital at 3424 Kossuth Avenue in Riverdale.

NYC Health + Hospitals has not filed plans at 227 Madison Street since 2017, however.
