NYCHA finishes $9.6M of rehabs in Mott Haven resi buildings

The New York City Housing Authority completed renovations to two Bronx rental buildings with a total of $9.6 million of work.

In the larger, NYCHA, on September 17, formally completed a $5.5 million rehabilitation of several floors of a building at 551 East 143rd Street in Mott Haven.

The plans, pre-filed on October 17, 2018, call for a rehab of the roof and floors one through 12 of the 200-foot tall, 20-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: application filed for minor alterations to apartments including cabinet and door replacements, lobby finishes, plumbing fixture replacement, exhaust replacements, window replacement, roof replacement and new landscaping. No change in use, egress or occupancy The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $5,527,800.

The plans pre-filed on October 17, 2018, call for a rehab of the roof and floors one through five of the 60-foot tall, six-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: application filed for minor alterations to apartments including cabinet and door replacements, lobby finishes, plumbing fixture replacement, exhaust replacements, window replacement, roof replacement and new landscaping. No change in use, egress or occupancy The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $4,062,500.

The architect for both projects was Newman Design Group.
