NYC files plans for $5.4M replacement of oil boilers in Soundview school
The New York City School Construction Authority, on October 27, filed a permit application for a $5.4 million project to replace the oil boilers in school building at 1025 Morrison Avenue in Soundview, the Bronx.
The plans call for work on the basement and all floors of the 56-foot tall, four-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: filing herewith mechanical modifications associated with the replacement of the existing oil-fired boilers with new oil-fired boilers and associated equipment as per plans filed herewith. No change in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $5.4 million.
The NYC SCA will handle the architecture work related to the project.
The James M. Kieran School offers classes in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics in conjunction with a five-year federal magnet grant awarded in 2018.
