Global Holdings to demolish Lincoln Square building ahead of 173K sf project

Global Holdings Management Group, on October 26, was given a permit for the demolition of a 114,022-square-foot building at 1841 Broadway in Lincoln Square.

The plans, pre-filed on October 25, 2019, call for the demolition of an 11-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of 11-story office building, using hand held and mechanical means to assist. Foundations to remain, and machines will assist with load out of debris and back-fill site.

On December 6, 2018, the developer filed plans to construct a 298-foot tall, 27-story, 173,561-square-foot mixed-use building with 123 dwelling units. The plans indicated the building would have several retail spaces in the cellar and on the ground floor. The numerous amenities included plans for a golf simulator, exercise room, arcade, study rooms, and numerous terraces.

The plans, however, were disapproved in August. No new plans have been filed yet and the developer did not immediately respond regarding their plans for the development.

The existing vintage office building has occupied the property since the 1920s.

Global Holdings Management Group has been a staple in the neighborhood for years. The firm owns the 1910 vintage Victorian style office building at 1845 Broadway and the retail asset at 1880 Broadway.
