NYC Department of Environmental Protection files plans for a $24M rehab of Tallman Island Wastewater Treatment Plant

NYC Department of Environmental Protection, on May 8, filed a permit application for a $24 million rehab of multiple floors of the building at 127-01 Powells Cove Boulevard in Queens.

The plans call for a renovation of the basement, cellar, ground floor, and roof of the 17-foot tall, 1-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: contract TI-168: rehab and upgrade the headworks of the Tallman Island Wastewater Treatment Plant. Work includes rehab and upgrade of sewage treatment processes, repair and rehab exist concrete structures replace roofing system limited to membrane and insulation in compliance with energy code, electrical work and misc. Operability and safety improvements as per plans submitted. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $24,000,000.
