Nonprofit files plans for 78-unit building in Tremont

Postgraduate Center for Mental Health (PCMH), on November 19, filed a permit application for construction of a 78-unit, 55,987-square-foot building at 130 East 177th Street in Tremont, the Bronx. Jacob Barak, president and CEO at Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, filed the plans.

According to their website, PCMH is a developer of housing for persons with mental illness and currently owns 16 apartment buildings in the city. The organization offers a full range of clinic services to both children and adults.

The organization originally filed plans for the construction of a 90-unit, 56,600-square-foot building at the site in March of 2019. However, those plans were disapproved.

The plans call for the construction of a 123-foot-tall, 12-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number X00628306. The development site spans two tax lots.

The project is described in the filing as: application is hereby filed for construction of new 12-story building.

According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a lobby, office, and recreation space. The second floor will have recreation space and six dwelling units. The third floor will have seven dwelling units, floors four through eight will each have eight dwelling units per floor, the ninth floor will have seven dwelling units, floors 10 and 11 will each have six dwelling units, and the 12th floor will have five dwelling units. The roof will have recreation space.
