Non-profit receives TCO for 50-unit residential building in Highbridge

The non-profit Housing options and Geriatric Association Resources, Inc. (H.O.G.A.R.), on December 8, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 50-unit, 29,070-square-foot residential building at 1084 Ogden Avenue in Highbridge.

The plans, pre-filed on March 16, 2016, call for the construction of a 59-foot tall, six-story residential building. The time from pre-file to TCO was four years and nine months.

The project is described in the filings as: erect new six-story community facility/residential building, all as per plans and applications filed herewith.

The building’s cellar has laundry and storage space, per the plans. The ground floor has a lobby, lounge, community room, conference room, and offices. Floors two through six each have 10 dwelling units per floor.

The building will provide supportive services for persons with a serious mental illness who are ready to live independently in their own apartment.

Catania-Nack Architects was the architect.

New York State Office of Mental Health provided all the funding for the development, according to a report.

The property was acquired for $890,000 on February 21, 2014.
