Nonprofit files plans for 174-unit mixed-use building in Brownsville
Nonprofit developer The Bridge, on December 8, filed a permit application for construction of a 174-unit, 182,620-square-foot mixed-use building at 203 Newport Street in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The property has an alternate address of 432 Thatford Avenue.
The plans call for the construction of a 75-foot tall, seven-story, mixed-use building.
The project is described in the filings as: it is proposed to erect a new seven-story building as shown on plans.
The building’s cellar will have storage space and an office, per the plans. The ground floor will have a residential lobby and community facility. The second floor will have a conference room, community room, laundry room, multipurpose room, and 23 dwelling units. Floors three through six will each have 34 dwelling units, while the seventh floor will have 15 dwelling units.
Think Architecture and Design will be in charge of the design.
Demolition plans have not yet been filed.
An estimated completion date has not been announced.
The property was acquired for $5.4 million on October 11, 2017.
