New York City School Construction Authority files plans a 307K sf school building in Queens

New York City School Construction Authority, on April 29, filed a permit application for construction of a 307,904-square-foot school building at 53-16 Northern Boulevard in Queens.

The plans call for the construction of a 86-foot tall, 6-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: H.S. 472 – Q (Q472) : construction of a six-story educational structure with cellar at block: 1192 and lot 48 tentative (combining lots 41, 47, 48) with entrance at 53-16 Northern Boulevard. Zoning and egress filed herewith. Premises is not located on a flood zone.

The plans show that the ground floor will be split between office space, classrooms, storage space, a cafeteria, locker/dressing rooms, and a gymnasium. The second floor will also have classrooms, in addition to storage space and an auditorium. Floors three through six will have classrooms, storage space, and offices.

The property was acquired for $40.1 million on October 11, 2019.
