Mendel Schwimmer files plans for 58-unit resi building, first NB plans in Brooklyn Heights in 12 months

Mendel Schwimmer through the company EYMS Inc., on May 13, filed a permit application for construction of a 58-unit, 41,291-square-foot residential building at 88 Schermerhorn Street in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn.

These are the first new building plans filed in the neighborhood in the previous 12 months.

The plans call for the construction of a 185-foot-tall, 20-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number B00736115.

The development site spans one tax lot. The lot has a width of 33 feet.

The project is described in the filing as: proposed 20-story residential development as per plans. Filing for 421a-Foundation Approval.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a lobby and one dwelling unit. Floors two through 20 will each have three dwelling units per floor.

The architect listed is NA Design Studio.

The property was acquired for $13.6 million on July 31, 2019.
