Mendel Kaff files plans for $2.3M project to add 40 units to recently purchased Soundview rental
Mendel Kaff, on October 20, filed a permit application valued at $2.3 million to add 40 units and enlarge his recently acquired residential building at 1050 Wheeler Avenue in Soundview, the Bronx.
The developer purchased the building in July for $9.3 million from Related Companies.
The plans call for an increase in the size of the building from a 30-foot tall, three-story, 50,003-square-foot building with 60 residential units, to a 55-foot tall, five-story, 80,905-square-foot building with 100 residential units.
The project is described in the filings as: application filed to enlarge existing three-story residential building into a five-story residential building. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,317,650.
The newly constructed fourth and fifth floors will each have 20 dwelling units, per the plans.
Issac & Stern Architects is the architect named.
