Industry City files plans for $5.3M single floor rehab of commercial building in Sunset Park

Industry City owners, on October 21, filed a permit application for a $5.3 million rehabilitation of one floor of a building at 147 41st Street in Sunset Park.

Industry City is owned by a partnership which includes Jamestown Properties, Belvedere Capital, Angelo, Gordon & Co. The owner representative on the filing was James Somoza, director of development at Industry City. The architecture firm was Gensler.

The plans call for a rehab of commercial space on the fourth floor of the 118-foot tall, eight-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: interior renovation of existing fourth floor commercial space to create commissary kitchen in conjunction with alteration 1 application. No change to use, occupancy or egress under this application. Cost estimation provided by new range construction. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $5,260,000.

The plans were filed in conjunction with a $240,000 A1 filing, coming last week, which aims to add a lunch room to the fourth floor.

Last year VER Technologies signed a lease for 25,000 square feet on the second floor of the building.
