Mega Contracting files plans for a 93K sf mixed-use building in Astoria

Mega Contracting Group, on July 14, filed a permit application for construction of a 35-unit, 93,193-square-foot mixed-use building at 22-61 45th Street in Astoria.

The plans call for the construction of an 84-foot tall, eight-story, mixed-use building. The owner representative was Hercules Argyriou of Mega Contracting Group.

The project is described in the filings as: construct new eight-story building per plans filed herewith.

The ground floor of the building will be split between community and residential use, according to the plans. There will be a community center lobby, community center, accessory dressing rooms and backstage/green room, accessory concession area, and retail space. There will also be a residential lobby and storage space. The second floor will have seven dwelling units, a community center office, and storage space. The third and fourth floors will each have 10 dwelling units, floors five and six will each have nine dwelling units, and floors seven and eight will each have eight dwelling units.

This is the second building in a two-building development plan by Mega. The first plans were filed on July 10, calling for construction of a 35-unit, 69,247-square-foot mixed-use building at 22-60 46th Street.

The architect is listed as Dattner Architects.

The plans have been in the works for over a year now, when reports indicated Mega Realty Holding and the Pancyprian Association were working in partnership to develop new mixed-use buildings on the site.

The property was acquired for $8.8 million on April 2, 2019.
