Mattone Investors files plans for 97K sf residential building in Williamsburg
Mattone Investors, on August 11, filed a permit application for construction of a 123-unit, 97,915-square-foot residential building at 402 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg.
The plans call for the construction of an 85-foot-tall, eight-story residential building. The project is being developed in partnership with the Department of Housing Preservation and Development.
The project is described in the filings as: new eight-story mixed-use HPD building to be constructed as per plans filed.
The ground floor of the building will have 4,292-square-feet of retail space, according to the plans. The ground floor will have a residential entrance and lobby as well as 7,535 square feet of parking space. The second floor will have an exercise room, recreation room, and 15 dwelling units. Floors three through six will each have 19 units, and the seventh and eighth floors will each have 14 units. The roof will add additional recreation space.
The development site is located at the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Marcy Avenue, two blocks west of the Metropolitan Avenue-Lorimer Street subway station, serviced by the L and G trains.
Daniel Bernstein of Kutnicki Bernstein Architects is listed as the architect.
Demolition plans were filed last month and are awaiting permits.
