Manhattan College receives TCO for $36.8M rehab and expansion of campus building in Kingsbridge

Manhattan College, on March 22, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for a $36.8 million rehabilitation project which tacked on 37,932 square feet of space to the now 149,216-square-foot campus building at 3825 Corlear Avenue in Kingsbridge, the Bronx.

The plans, pre-filed on October 4, 2017, call for the increase in the size of the building from a 52-foot tall, three-story, 111,284-square-foot building to a 64-foot tall, three-story, 149,216-square-foot building.

The project is described in the filings as: herewith filing for horizontal enlargement, interior renovations and facade work as indicated on plans. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $36,763,271.

Per the plans, a cafeteria and dining room in the building’s cellar was converted to a study lounge.

Mitchell Giurgola Architects LLP was the architect listed.
