Madison Realty Capital files demo plans at West Village site with plans for 20-unit condo

Madison Realty Capital, on June 11, filed a permit application for the demolition of a building at 14 Fifth Avenue in the West Village.

The plans call for the demolition of a four-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: full handheld demolition of an existing four-story residential structure.

In 2017, the developer filed plans calling for the construction of a 210-foot tall, 19-story, 67,986-square-foot residential building with 17 dwelling units.

Those plans were disapproved in February of this year. However, in March of this year, Yimby reported that the Landmarks Preservation Commission was meeting to review proposals from developer to construct a new 19-story condominium building at 14-16 Fifth Avenue with 20 units.

The report included renderings of the building from Robert A.M. Stern Architects, which is designing the building along with Hill West.

The property was acquired for $27.5 million on February 6, 2015.
