Maddd Equities files plans for 75K sf school in Inwood

Maddd Equities, on December 24, filed a permit application for construction of a 75,250-square-foot school building at 4778 Broadway in Inwood, in Upper Manhattan.

Jorge Madruga’s Maddd Equities and Eli Weiss’ Joy Construction Group purchased the property for $12.3 million at a bankruptcy auction on February 23, 2018.

The plans call for the construction of a 100-foot tall, eight-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: propose to erect new eight-story commercial and community facility building. Obtain new certificate of occupancy.

Per the plans, the ground floor and second floor of the building will be occupied by a food store. The upper floors will be used for school space, while the roof will provide a recreation area.

Aufgang Architects, LLC will be in charge of the design.

The structure that had previously occupied the property was demolished earlier this month.
