L+M Development permitted to demolish Central Harlem garage

L+M Development Partners, on August 7, was given a permit for the demolition of a building at 121 West 125th Street in Central Harlem.

The plans, pre-filed back in April, call for the demolition of a three-story garage building.

The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of three-story garage on 125th Street. Structure will be taken down is two phases: phase 1, hand demolition with mechanical assist (within building) phase 2, mechanical demolition from grade.

The building is being demolished to set the stage for a 357,425-square-foot, mixed-use building that the development firm filed plans for on June 27, 2019. The proposed building, which is still awaiting permits, would stand 205-feet and 18-stories tall, and yield 171-units.

The project is being developed in partnership with BRP Companies, Dabar Development, Taconic Partners and Prusik Group. Renderings were recently released for the development, which has an estimated completion date of late 2023.
