Lam Group receives TCO for 240-key Marriott Residence Inn hotel in FiDi

The Lam Group, on October 23, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 240-key, 135,648-square-foot hotel building, the Marriott Residence Inn, at 215 Pearl Street in the Financial District.

The plans, pre-filed on March 21, 2012, call for the construction of a 396-foot tall, 38-story hotel building. The time from pre-file to TCO was eight years and seven months.

The project is described in the filings as: erect new hotel building.

The cellar of the hotel has laundry services, storage and office space, and an employee break room, according to the plans filed. The ground floor is split between the hotel lobby and retail space. The second floor has a kitchen and an eating and drinking establishment. The third floor has an additional eating and drinking establishment, along with a pantry. The fifth floor has four rooms and an exercise room, floors six through 33 each have 10 rooms per floor, floors 34 through 37 each have nine rooms per floor, while the 38th floor has six rooms.

The building was originally to be designed by Nobutaka Ashihara Architects, before Gene Kaufman Architect took over.
