Joshua Schwartz files plans to convert storage building to residential in Fordham

Joshua Schwartz, on May 20, filed a permit application to convert a 31,578-square-feet storage building to residential use at 2314 Jerome Avenue in Fordham, the Bronx.

The plans call for a change in use of the 84-foot tall, seven-story building.

The plans are stated as: this application is for an interior renovation and a new certificate of occupancy for an existing altered seven-story building with cellar originally erected prior to 1968.

The ground floor of the building will go from warehouse to a lobby and community rooms. The second floor will have offices and additional community rooms. Floors three through seven will be used as a philanthropic institution with sleeping accommodations. In total, there will be 20 units between the five floors.

It is unclear what exactly the philanthropic institution will be used for, Joshua Schwartz did not respond to a request for comment.

The work will be done by Arpad Baksa Architect, PC
