Jay Group files plans for 178-unit mixed-use building in East New York
Joel Kohn’s Jay Group, on February 18, filed a permit application for construction of a 178-unit, 127,821-square-foot mixed-use building at 2886 Atlantic Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn.
Four days earlier, the developer filed two permit applications for the construction of an 80-unit, 60,617-square-foot mixed-use building at 1889 Atlantic Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, and a 70-unit, 57,673-square-foot mixed-use building at 237 McGuinness Boulevard in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
These are at least the fifth plans filed by the developer in the first quarter of 2022. On January 4, Jay Group filed a permit application for construction of a 292-unit, 240,092-square-foot mixed-use building at 101 Fleet Place in Downtown Brooklyn. Then, on January 28, the developer filed a permit application for construction of a 270-unit, 210,932-square-foot mixed-use building at 3880 Ninth Avenue in Inwood, Manhattan.
There have been 32 new building plans, including these plans, filed in East New York in the previous 12 months. Of the 32 plans, these plans call for the construction of the second most dwelling units in the neighborhood.
The plans call for the construction of a 90-foot-tall, nine-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number B00673635. The development site spans one tax lot.
The project is described in the filing as: proposed new nine-story and cellar mixed-use building.
Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a residential lobby and two commercial spaces. Floors two through seven will each have 22 dwelling units per floor, while floors eight and nine will each have 23 dwelling units.
