Jacob Jacobowitz files plans for 38-unit resi building in Tremont

Jacob Jacobowitz, on July 15, filed a permit application for construction of a 38-unit, 39,611-square-foot building at 536 East 183rd Street in Tremont, the Bronx.

The plans call for the construction of a 70-foot-tall, 60-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number X00530220. The development site spans two tax lots.

The project is described in the filing as: proposed new six-story and cellar residential use building.

Per the plans, floors one through five will each have seven dwelling units per floor, while the sixth floor will have six dwelling units. The building will also have recreation space on the roof and laundry in the cellar, as well as 19 parking space.

The architect listed is Baobab Architects P.C.

One of the properties was acquired for $825,000 on June 21, 2021, and the other was part of a four-building sale in 2014 totaling $6 million.

There have been several new building plans filed in the neighborhood recently. Earlier this month, Hershy Silberstein’s Bluesky Builders filed plans for a 69-unit, 42,926-square-foot building at 2136 Honeywell Avenue. In June, Darwin Torres filed plans for a 59-unit, 35,989-square-foot residential building at 1771 Weeks Avenue and Lulzim Leguci filed plans for a 44-unit, 25,861-square-foot residential building at 106 Mount Hope Place.
