Gotham Organization files for 453-unit mixed-use building in Hudson Yards

Gotham Organization, on January 22, filed a permit application for construction of a 453-unit, 428,208-square-foot mixed-use building at 550 10th Avenue in Hudson Yards. Bryan Kelly, president of development at Gotham, filed the plans.

The development is part of an overall joint project with the Covenant House. Covenant House is a charity group that helps homeless youth.

The plans call for the construction of a 520-foot tall, 47-story mixed-use building.

The project is described in the filings as: filing herewith new mixed-use building as per plans.

Per the plans the building will have several retail spaces, a pet spa, lounges, an exercise room, and terraces in the building. The second and third floors will have Covenant House office space. Floors four and five will each have 22 dwelling units per floor, floors six and seven will each have 18 dwelling units per floor, floors nine through 19 and 21 through 33 will each have 11 dwelling units per floor, floors 34 through 43 will each have nine dwelling units per floor, while the 44th floor will have eight dwelling units.

Handel Architects is listed as the architect.

Gotham filed plans to demolish the 80-foot-tall building that currently occupies the site in September of last year.

Gotham is to pay Covenant $78 million over time for a portion of the land owned by Covenant. Gotham will build a mixed-use, mixed-income building, according to the New York Post, but first has to complete a building for Covenant House, which is underway.
