Gilar Realty files demos in Murray Hill ahead of 122-unit project
Gilar Realty, on June 29, filed two permit applications for the demolition of two buildings at 534 Third Avenue and 536 Third Avenue in Murray Hill. Robert Gilardian filed the plans.
The demolitions will help clear way for a 190-foot tall, 17-story, 93,435-square-foot residential building with 122 units which the developer filed plans for last May. The new building plans have addresses of 162 East 36th Street and 540 Third Avenue.
The first demo plans call for the demolition of a four-story building at 534 Third Avenue.
The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of four-story structure using hand held equipment. Mechanical means will assist with removal of foundations, slab on grade removal, back-fill site and loading out of debris.
The developer acquired the properties for $8 million on February 12, 2015.
