Gilar Realty files plans for another Murray Hill demo ahead of 122-unit project
Gilar Realty, on October 27, filed a permit application for the demolition of a mixed-use building at 538 Third Avenue, south of 36th Street in Murray Hill, in Manhattan. Robert Gilardian of Gilar Realty, filed the plans.
These are the third demolition plans filed by the developer at the site in recent months. In July, plans were filed for the demolition of two buildings at 534 Third Avenue and 536 Third Avenue.
The demolitions will set the sage for the construction of a 190-foot tall, 17-story, 93,435-square-foot residential building with 122 units which the developer filed plans for last May. The new building plans have addresses of 162 East 36th Street and 540 Third Avenue.
The plans call for the demolition of a five-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of five-story mixed-use residential building using hand held equipment only. Mechanical means to assist with foundation, slab on grade removal, back fill site, and load out debris.
The developer acquired the properties for $8 million on February 12, 2015.
