George Rigas files plans for 147 unit building in Park Slope, at site of Grand Prospect Hall
George Rigas, on January 27, filed a permit application for construction of a 147-unit, 140,420-square-foot mixed-use building at 263 Prospect Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
The properties, between 5th and 6th Avenues along Prospect Avenue, were purchased last year for $30 million. Among the properties acquired was the Grand Prospect Hall, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. The building became a known event space in the area and was used in several films. The building is not a city landmark.
The plans call for the construction of a 50-foot-tall, five-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number B00656247. According to the filing, the development site will span 12 tax lots.
The project is described in the filing as: filing herewith to erect a five-story mixed-use building as per plans.
The architect listed is Hill West Architects.
Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a lobby, exercise room, recreational spaces, and 17 dwelling units. Floors two through four will each have 35 dwelling units per floor, while the fifth floor will have 24 dwelling units. The roof will have recreation space and the cellar will have parking space.
