Ferdinand Markushi files plans for 16-unit residential building in Morrisania

Ferdinand Markushi through the company GF Gunhill Road LLC, on August 3, filed a permit application for construction of a 16-unit, 11,515-square-foot residential building at 1429 East Gun Hill Road in Morrisania.

The plans call for the construction of a 37-foot tall, four-story residential building.

The project is described in the filings as: construct new apartment building.

The ground floor of the building will have a lobby, recreation room, and one apartment, according to the plans. Floors two through four will each have five apartments. The basement will provide laundry facilities and parking for 10 bikes. The building will also have parking space for 10 vehicles.

Located between Adee Avenue and Fenton Avenue, the development site is a short walk west to the Gun Hill Road subway station, serviced by the 5 train.

No demolition plans have been filed yet by the developer. In fact, these are the first plans filed at the property in the last 20 years. The property has been used as a parking lot since at least 2000.
