Brookfield files plans for $2.6M rehab at Staten Island Mall

Brookfield Properties, on August 3, filed a permit application for a $2.6 million rehabilitation of a building at the Staten Island Mall at 283 Platinum Avenue in Staten Island. The building has been home to Sears and Primark as well as other tenants.

The plans call for a rehab of both floors of the 34-foot tall, two-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: proposed to remove non-load bearing partitions, floor, wall and ceiling finishes; renovate existing retail space with non-load-bearing partitions, floor, wall and ceiling finishes. Modify existing storefront as per plans. Mechanical, plumbing, sprinkler to be filed through DOB Now; fire alarm to be filed at FDNY. No change of use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,600,000.

SBLM Architects is the architect listed on the application.

These are the second A2 renovation plans filed at the property this year. The first, and smaller of the two, was filed in February.
