Epos Development permitted for 21-unit mixed-use building in Flushing

Epos Development, on March 10, was given a permit for construction of a 21-unit, 25,510-square-foot mixed-use building at 150-23 Barclay Avenue in Flushing. Michael Cheng filed the plans.

The permit issued was a plumbing permit, the developer received initial new building and foundation permits this past fall.

The plans, pre-filed on May 17, 2019, call for the construction of a 60-foot tall, five-story mixed-use building.

The project is described in the filings as: proposed five-story mixed-use building.

The ground floor of the building will have commercial retail space, community space, and a residential lobby, per the plans. The second floor will have a health care facility. Floors three and four will each have eight dwelling units per floor, while the fifth floor will have five dwelling units. The cellar will also have retail space, along with parking for 62 cars.

Chang Hwa Tan of Tan Architect is responsible for the design.

Demolition of the single-story building that previously occupied the site was completed in 2019. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

The property was acquired with two other properties for $4.7 million on December 6, 2017.
