Developer files to convert storage building to 40K sf community facility in Pelham Parkway
Marc Glassman, on November 23, filed a permit application for a $2 million project to convert a storage building to a 30-unit, 40,336-square-foot community facility building at 1682 Stillwell Avenue in Pelham Parkway.
The plans call for a change in size and change in use of the building. Per the plans, the project will convert the 21-foot tall, one-story building to a 60-foot tall, six-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: herewith filed alteration 1 application to convert an existing one-story building to a six-story community facility. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,016,800.
The plans show that the ground floor will be converted to two recreation and dining spaces, offices, storage space, and a laundry room. The newly constructed floors two through six will each have six sleeping accommodations per floor, along with community facility space.
