Demo plans filed at site of stalled medical complex in Lenox Hill
The University Financing Foundation (TUFF), on June 30, filed a permit application for the demolition of a building at 202 East 77th Street in Lenox Hill, Manhattan.
Since acquiring the site with three other properties for $163.6 million on August 3, 2018, the nonprofit TUFF has been facing a series of roadblocks and legal battles with neighboring tenants in its effort to clear the site.
TUFF planned to partner with Northwell Health to build an outpatient center medical complex at the development site but the project has stalled and no plans have been officially filed yet. According to reports, the building could be as large as 278,149 square feet if it is constructed.
The plans, pre-filed on June 30, 2022, call for the demolition of a two-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of two-story structure, using hand held, and mechanical means to assist.
