Demo completed in Astoria ahead of 10-unit development, over five years after both plans were filed

On March 8, the demolition of a building at 23-31 Astoria Boulevard in Astoria was formally completed.

The plans, pre-filed on July 27, 2015 by the property’s previous owner, call for the demolition of a building.

A developer operating under the company Asto Crest Holdings LLC acquired the property for $2.2 million on January 3, 2020.

The project is described in the filings as: this is a demo of 3-story commercial building. Plans submitted, hand demolition used to remove foundation (building area 2070), sidewalk shed fill be filed under separate application.

On May 4, 2015, new building plans were filled for an 11,338-square-foot residential building with 10 dwelling units. While the plans are still active, they have not received permits yet.
