Criterion Group files plans for 170K sf motion picture studio in LIC

Shibber Khan’s Criterion Group, on March 23, filed a permit application for construction of a 170,132-square-foot motion picture studio at 41-43 22nd Street in Long Island City, Queens. Shibber Khan filed the plans.

The property was acquired with two other properties for $80 million on January 8, 2019.

The plans call for the construction of a 65-foot-tall, three-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number Q00697532. The development site spans two tax lots.

The project is described in the filing as: new three-story structure.

According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a motion picture studio and woodworking shops. Floors two and three will have office space.

The architect listed is Gerald Caliendo Architects.
