Congregation Chernobil files plans for 16k sf synagogue in Borough Park

Moshe Twersky of Congregation Chernobil, on June 9, filed a permit application for construction of a 16,761-square-foot synagogue at 1217 41st Street in Borough Park, Brooklyn.

There have been 33 new building plans, including these, filed in the neighborhood in the previous 12 months.

The plans call for the construction of a 60-foot-tall, five-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number B00737213.

The development site spans two tax lots. The lot has a width of 50 feet.

The project is described in the filing as: proposed five-story community facility as per plans.

Per the plans, the first two floors will be used for a house of worship. The upper floors of the building will have philanthropic office space.
