Concern for Independent Living permitted for 58-unit building in East New York

Concern for Independent Living, on July 8, was given a permit for construction of a 58-unit, 36,612-square-foot residential building at 410 Warwick Street in East New York. Ralph Fasano, executive director at Concern for Independent Living, filed the plans.

Both foundation and new building permits were issued.

According to the plans, the building will have a mix of non-profit sleeping accommodations and affordable residencies for seniors.

The plans, pre-filed on August 22, 2019, call for the construction of a 62-foot tall, six-story residential building.

The project is described as: propose new six-story plus cellar consist of non-profit institution with sleeping accommodations (use group 3) and affordable dependent residents for seniors (use group 2). Obtain new c of o.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a multipurpose room, office, lobby, computer library, medical dispensary, and three units. The remaining units will span floors two through six. The cellar of the building will have laundry, recreation space, and a fitness room.

Urban Architectural Initiatives is listed as the architect.

An estimated completion date has not been announced.

The property was acquired for $2.2 million on July 15, 2019.
