Con Edison files plans for $7.3M rehab of Astoria Generating Station
Consolidated Edison, on August 17, filed a permit application for a $7.3 million rehabilitation of an industrial building at the Astoria Generating Station at 31-01 20th Avenue in Astoria.
The plans call for a rehab of both floors of the 22-foot tall, two-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: building 136 repair and reinforcement of perimeter masonry wall to act as lateral system to bring the building up to 2014 NYC building code loading requirements. No change to use, occupancy, or egress under this application. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $7,322,075.
ConEd, which is headquartered at the The Consolidated Edison Building at 4 Irving Place in Manhattan, is one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the United States.
The energy juggernaut has filed nine A2 renovation plans at its Astoria building so far this year.
