Matrix Development Group files $3.6M plans to install solar panels on storage building in Staten Island

Matrix Development Group, on August 17, filed a permit application for a $3.6 million rehabilitation of the roof of a storage building at 526 Gulf Avenue in Staten Island.

The plans call for the installation of solar panels to the roof of the 47-foot tall, one-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: filing herewith applications for solar panels installation. No change in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $3,564,000.

The developer has filed two A2 renovation plans so far this year.

Earlier this year, Matrix filed plans for a $7.3 million renovation of a storage building at 566 Gulf Avenue. The building sits on 330 acres of the wetlands which have been set aside for developments.

In early 2019, Matrix filed a $7.35 million solar filing at the neighboring building occupied by Amazon at 546 Gulf Avenue that was the most expensive single-building filing ever for photovoltaic installation in New York City.
