Nonprofit Community Access files plans for 109K residential building in Tremont

The nonprofit supportive housing organization Community Access, on October 5, filed a permit application for construction of a 154-unit, 109,563-square-foot residential building at 334 East 176th Street in Tremont, the Bronx.

The plans call for the construction of an 83-foot tall, nine-story residential building. The building’s Schedule A does not note a ninth floor, however.

The project is described in the filings as: filing herewith new building as per plans.

According to the plans, the cellar of the building will have seven dwelling units and a laundry room while the basement will have eight dwelling units, tenant storage space, and an additional laundry room. The ground floor will have 12 dwelling units, storage space, a gallery, office space, a conference room, kitchen, and pantry. Floors two through four will each have 20 dwelling units and a laundry room per floor. Floors five and six will each have 19 dwelling units and a laundry room per floor. The fifth floor will also have community space. The seventh floor will have 14 dwelling units, a fitness room, a greenhouse, a laundry room, and terraces. The eighth floor will have 15 dwelling units and a laundry room.

Edelman Sultan Knox Wood Architects is the architect listed in the filing.

The property was acquired for $6 million on August 27, 2019.

No demolition plans have been filed at the property.

Two miles south, in Melrose, Community Access was recently given permits for construction of a 245-unit, 201,136-square-foot mixed-use building at 1169 River Avenue.
