Columbia University permitted for 50K sf indoor sports complex in Inwood

Columbia University, on October 12, received a permit for construction of a 50,112-square-foot sports complex building at 603 West 218th Street in Inwood, in Manhattan. Edward McArthur filed the plans.

The developer received foundation permits for the project, in this latest action.

The plans were one of three new building plans filed in Inwood in 2020. So far this year there have been plans for four new buildings filed.

The plans, pre-filed on July 30, 2020, call for the construction of a 44-foot tall, one-story, 50,112-square-foot building.

The project is described in the filings as: filing herewith new building.

The ground floor of the building will have a tennis court, locker room, lounge and offices, according to the plans. The mezzanine will be used for a locker room, offices, a lounge, and storage, while the roof will have additional tennis courts.

The architect listed is Perkins&Will.
